Restore HTC One M8 Google Play Edition back to Stock Sense Interface

Restore HTC One M8 Google Play Edition back to Stock Sense Interface

If you followed my video guide on how to Convert your HTC One Sense M8 to Google Play Edition with OTA updates, you may be wondering if it is possible to restore it back to Stock Sense Interface.

The answer is yes. However, it's complicated. Normally, you can simply use what we call a RUU file, which stands for ROM Update Utility that restores your HTC back to complete sense stock with a click of a few buttons. With an RUU, you simply download the RUU, and run it off of your PC and it does the complete restoration with minimal intervention from the user.

Unfortunately, as of now, there is no RUU available. That means, you will have to use another workaround to restore to stock sense UI on your HTC One M8 which is somewhat complicated and requires maximum intervention from the user.

LG G3 Vs. HTC One M8

LG G3 Vs. HTC One M8

It seems as if every year that the world is filled with new technology and devices.  Well although the HTC One M8 has proven to be a sleek and sexy new model among the squared off large screen models so commonly found everywhere, this new G3 by LG is certainly a perfect match for the M8.

The just announced LG G3 is the first major manufacture to deliver a QHD display. The LG G3 comes with a larger battery as well as dual LED flash with OIS. It stands out with its significantly thinner bezel while also having a larger display.

The HTC One M8 comes with front facing stereo speakers with a dual camera on the back. The HTC One M8 coems with a solid metal design with an fm radio. Check out this great video and feel free to check out our accessories for the new M8.

HTC One mini 2 vs HTC One M8

HTC One mini 2 vs HTC One M8

This video compare the specifications of the all new HTC One M8 vs. the HTC One Mini which was just released.  Both phones come with countless upgrades and applications and are designed for the user who prefers a larger viewing area and also for the user who prefers a more streamlined design that can easily slide into your pocket.  I think you will find that both HTC One designs are very similar except for their form factor.  The only part that worries me a tad is the lower 1GB RAM that the mini provides as many newer apps are stretching the limits of our phones RAM capabilities.

HTC One M8 Prime

HTC One M8 Prime

As HTC continues to wow the marketplace by creating revolutionary designs in the mobile market, the HTC One M8 is also setting the bar higher with each creation. As great as the HTC One (M8) is, it looks like the best is still yet to come from HTC. The reliable @evleaks claims that HTC’s upcoming One (M8) Prime flagship phablet will be “made out of an exotic material, a composite of aluminum and liquid silicone,” which Alpha Materials, Inc. informs us is almost as light as aluminum but is also significantly stronger. So from the sound of it, it looks as though HTC’s next major release will be even more durable than its current lineup of high-end smartphones.

This isn’t the only leak on the One (M8) Prime that @evleaks has for us, either. In fact, @evleaks also says that the new device will be the first HTC smartphone to be water resistant as Samsung and Sony flagship smartphones are and it will also feature an LTE Advanced Category 6 radio, which will give it the ability to download data at up to 300Mbps.

In addition to the aluminum-liquid silicone casing, the water-resistant design and the super-fast new LTE radio, other reported specs for the Prime include a 5.5-inch quad HD (1,440 x 2,560 pixels) display, a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, a USB 3.0 port and an 18-megapixel version of HTC’s Duo Camera that the company first showed off with the HTC One (M8).

How durable is the M8

How durable is the M8

The HTC M8 is constantly setting the bar higher when tested against the mobile elite.  So just how durable is the M8?  The video above describes the many enhanced features which make this phone one of the best built phones on the market packed with more punch than any other platform available.

This time around we take a look at the durability of the One since this generation is made out of more aluminum, polycarbonate, and glass.
The new HTC One M8 is the second generation of HTC's flagship device. Last year the M7 was one of the most popular devices around, certainly here as well. The M7 was the number one smartphone ranked by you guys for a full year! Now its on to the next HTC One, this one being called the M8. It features a new build using stainless steel and aluminum plus its grown a bit in size.

The new display measures in at 5-inches but keeps the high quality 1920 by 1080 display panel. That equates to 441 pixels per inch, slightly lower than the last generation One but well north of what we conceive as 'Retina' in our world of smartphones. Hardware has also been bumped to hold a new SnapDragon 801 Quad-Core Processor, 2GB of RAM, and one of its main attractions, the Duo Camera.

So join us to find out what the HTC One M8 has to offer. Is it that much better than the M7?

HTC One M8 - Full Review (1 Month Later)

HTC One M8 - Full Review

(1 Month Later)

After the release of the M8 from HTC, it's always important to get a good review once the phone has been around for a while before rushing to judgement based upon specs and over glorified commercial advertising.  Of course the Samsung lovers will rip it to pieces calling it junk and every one and their brother will drop it off a building or bash it with a hammer for youtube fame.  The entire review is very well done and gives a great overview of the M8 before purchase.

HTC One M8 review: Harman Kardon edition

HTC One M8 review: Harman Kardon edition

While HTC's standard-trim One M8 was one of the worst-kept secrets in smartphone history, its special-edition cousin managed to stay unseen almost right up until its unveiling last week. HTC and Sprint announced the device in a joint event held alongside Spotify executives in NYC, where our own Adam Lein got an informative if noisy hands-on. Shortly thereafter, HTC sent us a demo unit to try out for ourselves (alongside a Harman Karson Onyx Studio that we've yet to cover) and we've spent the last few days getting to know it.

That proved more difficult than expected. The Harman/Kardon edition of the One M8 is meant for one purpose alone: to deliver an exceptional acoustic experience. That means we needed to get its high-end AE-S earbuds into the ears of a professional, someone who could tell the difference between a Spotify track at "Extreme Quality" and a 44.1/16 FLAC file. And we needed time to figure out whether operational modes like "LiveStage" and "Clari-Fi" were actually useful, or just rehashes of Beats Audio from a company searching for a replacement headliner.

It took some doing, but we managed to answer those questions --with the help of a musically-inclined friend of the Pocketnow Weekly-- in our HTC One Harman Kardon review video. Check it out above -- and if you're not convinced to jump to Sprint just for the audio suite (or the spiffy black-and-gold paint job), check out the next video down on our Channel page for a step-by-step tutorial on how to convert a standard-edition HTC One M8 into a Harman Kardon special ... using the magical power of software!
